This is pretty good... Do not skip the cartridge filling and air removal part else it won't work. And this for me was super time consuming... If the ink level in the printhead cartidridge is already low it takes a lot of time to fill.. That's the only big challenge. And another imp thing is to remember to lock the tank (as shown) before taking the printhead cartridge out, and then resetting it to open before using the printer. Before cleaning only magenta was coming. After these steps yellow and black came as well. Unfortunately blue (cyan) didn't deem my efforts sufficient 😅

Absolutely fantasatic video, congrats. Just let me add.... - first of all it seems to work with many Selphy printers, also CP710 or CP510 - they all look similar inside and the issue is always the same - in many cases it seems the gear is not really broken but it just moved to the edge. In this case, it's enough to move it back with a little screwdriver If that is the case, you don't have to go as far with the reassembly as you see in the video. After removing the chassis from the case, you can already reach the gear and push it back... so you don't have to remove the top PCB and you don't have to remove the motor assembly.

Hi. I cleaned and serviiced my printhead changed with new cartridges and the printer still gives me message " one or more cartridges appears to be damaged etc...". Any hint? Thanks

Followed this guide....same issue as in video. Unfortunately I damaged a ribbon connector on reassembly...The same one the guy in the video struggles to reinsert. New printer arrives tomorrow....boo!

Where do get Epson3110 resetter

Hi, I followed your excellent video just as you did the job except I didn't have an eraser to rub on the connections. I did use a slightly dampened paper towel and rubbed the connections really well. The 4 little squares do still have a very faint circle on them which you can barely see that I couldn't completely clean off. Unfortunately I still have the error message "there is a problem with the printer or ink system" Can you suggest anything else I can try as I really don't want to have to throw the printer out. Thanks Mark.

Thanks, this worked like a charm! I purchased a $5 CRAFTSMAN #0 Acetate Handle Phillips Screwdriver from Lowes (Item 1061123) to unscrew the four corner screws. Also, I only removed the three screws on the printed circuit board which allowed me to finagle the entire chassis & PCB out together. That way I didn't have to remove the ribbon connectors at 5:12 & 5:29. One commenter said they didn't even remove the ribbon connectors for the top, but I chose to remove them. For those who asked, the liquid used on the shaft is super glue, NOT oil. The screw that holds the motor in is too small for the #0 phillips so I used a flat head screwdriver from an eyeglass kit. I fully pulled the gear completely off the shaft and used a toothpick to spread a small amount of Gorilla super glue inside the gear and then pushed it back on the shaft. No problems so far.

What if I lost the gear already? Where can I buy the particular gear and what is the size? Thank you in advance.

Thanks! I fixed my printer following your instructions (it was leaving steaks on the printouts). Let me try to give back with a few notes: - I suggest to wear gloves, so you don't leave grease on delicate components - toner can be nasty, better wear a mask - as reported in a comment, to open the side panel you have to remove a screw in the back of the printer, then unlatch the bottom (be delicate or you might break the plastic panel) - it is not shown, but when you operate on the side, it is easier to reach the white plastic piece if you remove a little black plastic part under the fan cover (not the fan cover). It is simply held in place by two latches - there are only two types of screws and they are clearly different, so it's easy to understand which to use when you rebuild the printer
